1. Our commitment
Every player who trains with xGI is a child, and their safety and welfare come first in everything we do. We follow the Children First Act 2015, Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children, and the Football Association of Ireland's child safeguarding requirements.
2. Child Safeguarding Statement
Our Child Safeguarding Statement is being finalised and will be published here. A copy is available on request from [email protected].
3. Designated Liaison Person
Our Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting concerns to Tusla. Their details will be published here; until then, contact [email protected].
4. Our coaches
Everyone who coaches or volunteers with xGI must be Garda vetted before working with children, and renews that vetting every three years. They complete the FAI’s safeguarding course and follow our code of conduct. We keep a record of each person’s vetting and training, and anyone whose vetting has lapsed does not coach until it is renewed.
5. Raising a concern
- If a child is in immediate danger, call the Gardaí on 999 or 112.
- To raise a concern with us, speak to any coach or email [email protected], marking it for the Designated Liaison Person. Every concern is taken seriously, recorded in confidence and acted on.
- You can also contact Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, directly at any time.
